Yoga is normally credited to two great, spiritual stalwarts: Lord
Sri Krishna and the sage Patanjali. The Yoga of the sage Patanjali is more
popular nowadays and consists largely of 2 parts – Hatha and Raja Yoga.
Let’s understand how it works. According to the Yoga of Patanjali
there are 3 limbs and hence it is called Ashtanga Yoga. They are:
·
Yama (observances)
·
Niyama (restraints)
·
Asana (posture)

easily and instantly, elevate themselves in body, mind, morals, emotions and
spirit. Kriya Yoga has no age limitations of any sort for practicing.

Bikram yoga, a discipline that takes its name from it's founder, is today one of the most popular forms of yoga. Those who are new to yoga itself may find it surprising, but there are various schools of thought and different disciplines within yoga. Hatha yoga and bikram yoga are probably the two most popular of these disciplines. While they do share a lot in common, hatha yoga is a more traditional type of yoga, and is often used as the term to describe the very practice of yoga. Bikram yoga... Continue reading...

In
Sanskrit "ha" means "the sun" and "tha" means
"the moon". Hence Hatha Yoga represents the union "of the pairs
of opposites". Oftentimes Hatha Yoga is also interpreted as "forceful
yoga" since, of all Yoga forms, it calls for the most physical exercises.
There is definitely no doubt that Hatha Yoga is the form of Yoga that is the
most well-known in the West. This, perhaps, is why there are so many definitions of Hatha Yoga.
First and foremost,
Hatha Yoga is focusing on the practice of phys... Continue reading...

Jivamukti Yoga is probably the latest form of
Hatha Yoga. It is the brainchild of was of David Life and Sharon Gannon,

lot of emphasis on the educational aspect of the practice. Here, students also
learn how the philosophies of Yoga came about. Jivamukti
